Christmas CRUSH ! !

Well folks it was to good to be true for this season.MY yard has been vandalized!!
We came home last night from shopping and found the small light tree pulled down by someone RIDING through the yard hooking the cord with their foot. I fixed the tree (no damage).
Then about 11:30 Sat morning we looked out and saw the small tree had been CRUSHED. I did the NORMAL thing and called dispatch and filed a report.
Now here is the bright side of this. I told PD that I am putting a $20.00 bounty for info. about the person who did this. It was no longer than 3 minintes later 4 boys from the neighborhood came to my door giving info of a :

BLACK MALE ABOUT 13 OR 14 IN A BLACK HOODIE
RIDING A TURQUOISE MOUNTAIN 10 SPEED

He was seen doing the drive through last night AND crushing the tree this morning. If you see this PERSON call me or PD immediately!
Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Armed Robber BUSTED!

Last week was full of excitement...the Holiday Cleaners was robbed at gunpoint but he made one HUGE mistake...he came into my salon because he was deciding whether he wanted to rob us or the cleaners. He chose the cleaners because there was only person there to our five people. He popped in and asked to make an appointment but because he acted funny and had nice hair (lol!) we remembered him well. He popped in a second time and changed it to an hour later....again, we thought he was acting very strange. I followed him out to tell him I could cut it right then but he was in a real big hurry. About 10 minutes later, the police came in and we found out that he had robbed the place next door. Well, my new stylist and I were apparently the only two that had seen his face out of the more than 10 places he had robbed in the Texarkana area, so with our description of the car and the guy, police were able to find him the following Sunday night after he robbed a place on New Boston Rd. his car was sighted at a crack house and he was found inside hiding. He matched our description to a "T". We went down the next morning and IDed him in a photo line up so there is one THUG off the streets!! Don't forget that hair stylists pay close attention to the way people look so don't even try it! Thanks for the scam info, Pam!!!

Scam in town

Just an FYI to all. This week we recieved in the mail an official looking letter and a check for $968 and some change. The letter directed us to call a long distance # and give them info for taxes because we had won over $8,000. My husband looked it up on the internest and it is a scam. I asked him to take it to the police dept. He did so and basically the officer/dect he spoke with made him feel like it was no big deal as it "has been around about 6 months" per the officer. We did not know and as concerned citizens wanted to make sure no one else got suckered by this.

dogs in house (vacant)2

Just to let everyone know ,the dogs are NOT in the house anymore.
About 6pm 8 Oct PD had gotten a search warrant and removed the 2 dogs from the house at 925 Guam, and are now at the city barn's kennel, but was asked to keep an eye out for a male that goes to the house checking on the dogs.
So if you are in the area of 925 Guam look and see if you see ANYONE around this house,if so call PD or myself, because they want to talk to that person or persons and to charge them with several charges.

ANOTHER situation at 937 Guam

at about 11:30 am this morning(7 Oct),my wife tells me that Baggy britches and Shani qua are fighting out side their house.
she tells me that they are cussing and saying that (WE) 936 Guam are going to call the police, and yelling at our house to go ahead and call the police and went back to fighting with each other.
Baggy Britches gets into a red Mercury with large wheels( that was parked BESIDE the house) and the female runs to the passenger door, and starts slamming the car door on her gas meter.Baggy gets out and picked up a tire iron that was laying in the yard next door, runs over to the female and swung at her with the tire iron BUT missed! She then jumps at Baggy and punches him in the head 2 or 3 times. Baggy then walked away towards Arizona and the female goes into her house.
About 2 minutes later Baggy runs back and gets into the red car,got into the street and the female runs from the house and grabbed the driver's door handle and hitting the window WHILE the car was driving away to Arizona. She then went into her house ,came out and drove away towards Burma.
To let it be known Baggy Britches has been at 937 for about a week without his gray Chrysler 300, walking from Arizona way from time to time.

Dogs in a vacant house

On Oct7 about 4 pm my wife noticed that a window was open on the north side of 925 Guam. This house has been vacant for about a month now after the residents were evicted. When I got home late from work she told me of the situation. I called one of the police officers on duty and asked that he please check out the house. I had previously noticed kids in the neighborhood go into the backyard of 925 Guam and I had to run them off of the property. The officer called back to tell me that there were 2 dogs in the house and asked if I would look and see if I had seen them before. The dogs did not have any food or water to be seen and ARE closed up in a bedroom filled with broken furniture, trash, and feces. The condition of this house is condemnable at best. I have seen these same 2 dogs in the area getting into the trash set out for pickup. They were also seen in the backyard of 929 Guam. These dogs belong to the residents of 912 Guam which is one of the trouble houses on Guam. These people have already been made to get rid of other dogs after they could not produce proper documentation on the animals. It appears they may be trying to hide the animals by keeping them there. This is an obvious case of breaking and entering, trespassing, and cruelty to animals by neglect. The police department is currently trying to contact the owners of 925 Guam in order to follow proper procedure in having the animals removed from the premises.
Please help keep an eye out on any vacant houses in our area. Their seem to be more vacant houses coming up each month. If you see ANYTHING different with the houses call the police or a block captain to have it checked out.

Neighbor In Need

I was contacted by a neighbor on Arizona in the 500 block. They are having trouble with some residents. There was even a fight in their own front yard!! If you live in that area or near that area, we need to keep a sharp eye out for things that need to be reported. I'll let you know the addresses when I find them out. I do know they are on the odd numbered side of the street.

National Night Out

Wake Village will be hosting it's own National Night Out, America's Night Out Against Crime on October 6th from 6pm to 8pm.  The event will take place at the Wake Village First Baptist Church on Burma Road in their new parking lot. We have enlisted the involvement of 14 businesses so far and expect more to hop on board in the next couple of days. There will be booths set up by local businesses with snacks, drinks and activities that will be suited for the whole family. We are really wanting to get the word out about the 2010 Census as well. The Census can help bring additional funding to our town. Please make plans to attend and spread the word. Next week we will be looking for volunteers to help us go door to door to hand out fliers.  The Wake Village Neighborhood Watch Group will also have a booth set up so we will need folks to volunteer some time to help set it up, run it and clean up afterwards. Let's get the word out and make this a success!

OLD DRUG DEALER RETURNS!!!

I want to let everyone know that an old drug dealer is back in the neighborhood at 937 Guam.He is known as FROG, (I call him BAGGY BRITCHES). He drives the gray Chrysler 300 with gray spinner wheels.
He began showing back up starting Friday 11 Sept. If you see this car backed in the driveway he is ready to sell drugs or has drugs with him. He has done the same thing in the past, and many different cars would stop for a short time during the day.
This is the same person that assaulted the woman who was staying at the residence until she was arrested 2 months ago for warrants. It appears that they are back together after her release.
So if you could please help to keep an eye out for this vehicle, and alert the police anytime you see this vehicle in the neighborhood. 'He is definitely up to no good and we want this person out of our city!!''

concerning litter

For the past few days my husband and I have noticed partial pack's of cigarrette's in our yard. Not at the edge of our yard, but up around the back of carport close to the house. We have not found any butts yets, nor smell of smoke, but I am suspicious of possible activity around our house. Maybe someone watching for times we go to bed, or are down in the den, which is where we found the latest pack(outside the den window!). I am not thrilled to know someone is possibly watching our routines. I wanted everyone to be on the lookout for anything like this in their own yards.
This happened at 805 Guam.

a petty thief in the night

sometime last night someone came onto our property, came all the way up the carport and stole a basket of old table linens off the carport. All while the carport was illuminated by the carport light. It is not that they took something valuable, it is that this person, or persons came onto our property uninvited, at night, and took something that did not belong to them. My husbands truck was stolen one night after we went to bed as well. Not gonna take it lying down! I did call the police dept, and Officer Neff came and talked to us.

I want to say Thank You to the local Police Dept for all of their hard work. They can't be everywhere all the time. But, they come, when they are called.

FRONT PAGE!

Our neighborhood watch made the front page! Today's paper had a picture of us on the Front page and in full color. The story was great and I hope it gets a lot of attention. If you are in the area and have not yet gotten involved in the watch....now is the time! Keep looking out for your neighbors and calling in the bad things you see. If you see an officer...tell him THANK YOU!

BUSTED!

WAY TO GO WAKE VILLAGE PD!!!
The suspected drug dealer mentioned in a previous blog that goes by the name "Stubby" has been arrested for trafficing drugs. He was caught with a substantial amount of several different drugs. It is supected that he was supplying drugs to several dealers in the area. Maybe with their supplier gone they will consider relocating to another area outside of Wake Village. Our local law enforcement along with an outside agency has worked hard to get an ironclad bust on this individual. Next time you see an officer...Thank Him...

Break In!

This morning, an unknown person was seen in front of a camper at 808 Arizona. Later, the resident at 808 found that his camper had been broken into through the windows and apparently they exited through the door. The neighbor across the street that seen the person in front of the camper said it was about 5:00am this morning and the person proceeded up to Hickam and then went left onto Hickam. He then lost sight of the person. The neighbor said it was too dark to see any details about the person.
Please watch your neighbors houses and if you see something like this, call the police. This constitutes "Suspicious Activity" and therefore a phone call to the police. There shouldn't be anyone walking around or lingering anywhere at this time of the morning in this manner. This is where we have to start opening our eyes and paying attention to what is happening around us.

THE WORD IS OUT

Monday I was approached but a W V resident asking about a cream color Chrysler 300 (Texas tag # 816 SJZ) that has been seen on Northwest Dr. on several occasions. The car would arrive at a house for a very short time; something would be handed off from the driver to the resident, and the car would leave.
The very same activity was occurring at 937 Guam St with the SAME cream colored Chrysler 300 2 to 3 time a week. After contacting PD on several occasions, I was informed that this individual is a known drug dealer in the Texarkana area known by the street name as Stubby. It appears that this individual moves from one location to another when he realizes the residents are paying too much attention and PD is patrolling the area on a very regular basis. This is what happened on Guam Street and is obviously now moved to other locations.
If you see any suspicious activity, call 911 and report it immediately. Do not be afraid to speak out. If you don't feel comfortable calling 911, call any of the block captains and we will be happy to report this activity.
As you can see the word is getting around and is slowly building, so grab another block and lets build the wall up to block out crime in OUR neighborhood.

Street Rights!

My husband just came back from getting our dinner and decided to take the short cut through Guam. Well, that was a bad idea. Apparently some of the tenants on that road believe that THEY have control over the road and that cars should stop so they may cross from one problemed house to another. He said about 20 feet in front of him a tall, skinny black male wearing a black tank top, a blue cap and "Baggie" jeans stepped out in front of his truck and held his hand up for him to stop so the guy could cross the road.
Folks, I've checked this out and the vehicles DO HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY! If this happens to you, please call and report it. The Wake Village police are aware of this problem and when we call it in, they do go and set them straight. They DO NOT have the right to linger in the road when traffic comes through. The Wake Village police have stressed to us the importance of calling in actions such as these. Make the call.

WORST OF THE WORST

"WORST OF THE WORST" WINNER
933 GUAM STREET

I took a drive around yesterday with my camera so that I could take some pictures of a few of the homes that are visual nuisances. I was looking for a winner of my new monthly picture post of the "Worst of the Worst". I found the perfect house to start it off.

The house is located at 933 Guam Street. The owner is Lewis Gildon. Mr. Gildon actually rented this house out to a single young girl. I've heard that she has had fight after fight with her boyfriend and he has beat her to the point of having to go to the hospital. I hear that she has vacated the premises as of right now but all of her stuff is left inside. These are the houses we have to work hard on. This owner should not be allowed to let this house remain in this condition, nor should he be allowed to rent this to any human being.

What can we do?? We can file a complaint against this home owner for his house being a nuisance house. A nuisance house is one that looks like this and YOU have to look at it from your home. Please file your complaint at Wake Village City Hall.

Wake Village Neighborhood Watch Group

This has been created for the citizens of Wake Village, Texas so that we may keep each other informed on the activities in our town whether they are good or bad. We started this neighborhood watch group earlier this year due to the increase in crime in our area.

Please feel free to post ANY information you may have about anything that is going on in our neighborhood.
