Welcome!

We are getting this site back up and running. Not everyone has facebook so this is another venue we can use to get information out to our members! We have had record breaking numbers of people coming to our meeting so we have had to secure a new meeting place. One of our members works for TXISD and has gotten us permission to use the Wake Village Elementary Cafeteria.  Our next meeting will be October 9, 2011 from 2-3p. We try our best to keep these meetings down to an hour but at times we may linger over a few minutes. You are free to leave at anytime during our meetings. If you have suggestions that you feel would help our group or community, we have box available at each meeting. If you wish to make a monetary contribution to the group then you may also place that in the box as well, there are envelopes too.
Please make plans to attend as many meetings as you can. Knowledge is Power!
National Night Out celebration is Americas fight against crime. Texas has theirs on October 4th this year and Wake Village is celebrating in a big way at King Park from 6-8p on Tuesday, October 4th. Come one, come all! bring the whole family!

Neighborhood watch meeting went great today. I really wish we could pack city hall with residents and then all of them come back the next evening for the city council meeting. We have a lot of support from residents but a lot more is needed. The more the merrier! I'm hoping to do something fun for the next meeting on July 11th. Maybe homemade ice cream if I can find enough people that have ice cream machines to make it before the meeting and have it ready come meeting time. Hmmm....I'm wanting some homemade ice cream now and I don't have a machine to make any with.

Summer in the Village

Ok everyone. Summer is upon us again. Looks like it is gonna be an interesting one. The kids are already starting to cause trouble. They are not moving from the middle of the road in front of 912 Guam. These kids are actually touching, hitting cars with their hands or whatever is in their hands. It happened to my daughter's car. Yes, she called it in. Nothing happened though. I even called Chuck Green and he gave a lame excuse that the call was cleared, but we sat outside waiting on the police to respond for 1 hour, and nothing happened except the kids finally left our street.Also, these kids are playing with rocks, hitting them with sticks. The water utility people called it in once, but by the time PD got there the kids were gone. Our truck has jad a flat. When examined by Daniels Tire, it was said to my husband that someone must have let the air out of his tire as there was not problems with the tire. Keep your eyes open. Just wanted you all to have a heads up!

Ok folks things on this page has become real slow in here.
To start things off FROG(Cory) is back at 937 Guam. Even though the girl there is now his EX-girlfriend, he is coming back on the weekends.Things are real quiet when he has not around.
When he spends the weekend there (backed into the east driveway) cars start coming by as usual at the 5 to 10 min time frame, but, is now at night. On sat May 8th cars came by from 11:30 till 3:00
I was told by PD that he is known not to have a drivers license. He is driving a Silver Tahoe with the large rims and he as an Ark temp tag on his vehicle. So if you see him in the area to a note and contact PD or a block captain.

What's up with this?

Today, I called WVPD and tried to discuss some issues on Guam St. I feel like nobody really cared about what is going on. I was given many excuses about every issue I brought up. Then, tonight, I find out that some people are feeling like their toes are being stepped on. ( PD office). What has happened to all of the hard work that went into the forming of this group?
I hope that things can be resolved and that everyone can get past this bump in the road.

Christmas CRUSH ! !

Well folks it was to good to be true for this season.MY yard has been vandalized!!
We came home last night from shopping and found the small light tree pulled down by someone RIDING through the yard hooking the cord with their foot. I fixed the tree (no damage).
Then about 11:30 Sat morning we looked out and saw the small tree had been CRUSHED. I did the NORMAL thing and called dispatch and filed a report.
Now here is the bright side of this. I told PD that I am putting a $20.00 bounty for info. about the person who did this. It was no longer than 3 minintes later 4 boys from the neighborhood came to my door giving info of a :

BLACK MALE ABOUT 13 OR 14 IN A BLACK HOODIE
RIDING A TURQUOISE MOUNTAIN 10 SPEED

He was seen doing the drive through last night AND crushing the tree this morning. If you see this PERSON call me or PD immediately!

Armed Robber BUSTED!

Last week was full of excitement...the Holiday Cleaners was robbed at gunpoint but he made one HUGE mistake...he came into my salon because he was deciding whether he wanted to rob us or the cleaners. He chose the cleaners because there was only person there to our five people. He popped in and asked to make an appointment but because he acted funny and had nice hair (lol!) we remembered him well. He popped in a second time and changed it to an hour later....again, we thought he was acting very strange. I followed him out to tell him I could cut it right then but he was in a real big hurry. About 10 minutes later, the police came in and we found out that he had robbed the place next door. Well, my new stylist and I were apparently the only two that had seen his face out of the more than 10 places he had robbed in the Texarkana area, so with our description of the car and the guy, police were able to find him the following Sunday night after he robbed a place on New Boston Rd. his car was sighted at a crack house and he was found inside hiding. He matched our description to a "T". We went down the next morning and IDed him in a photo line up so there is one THUG off the streets!! Don't forget that hair stylists pay close attention to the way people look so don't even try it! Thanks for the scam info, Pam!!!
